Vidalia Onion Sandwiches

Use flat white onions. Soak them in ice cubes in refrigerator overnight. Slice them the next day and soak slices in ice cubes in refrigerator overnight. On the third day, cut soft, white sandwich bread into rounds using a small cookie cutter. Spread each round with mayonnaise. Drain onion slices and pat dry. Put slices between bread rounds. Wrap in waxed paper and refrigerate for 5 hours. Serve chilled.

NOTE: These sandwiches seem like alot of work and time, but do them exactly as written and you will be rewarded with raves from your guests! (People always ask for this recipe).
